Cheap eats

If you find yourself out of pocket and need somewhere to dine on your own, with friends or colleagues we recommend the following restaurants for something that is satisfying and value for money.

East Coast Parkway, Seafood Centre.
If you want an experience beyond the regular restaurants, take a taxi out to East Parkway and walk along the rows of small restaurants on the beach. Here you can find the most amazing seafood and the chili crab is a local delicacy.

Chinatown Food Street 
This had a bit of a makeover in 2013 and since it has been the go-to place to find cheap, delicious and local food in Singapore. The Food Street is located within the Chinatown Street Market, but head straight to Smith Street to find the main food area.

Little Saigon
This restaurant is a very popular Vietnamese restaurant and bar located at Clarke Quay. The relaxed dining experience turns more lively as the evening gets later and the house band starts playing.

Sukhothai
Located at Boat Quay, this Thai restaurant delivers inexpensive and authentic food as if they were cooked on the streets of Bangkok. You can turn down the heat if you do not love the burning sensation on your tongue.

Clarke Quay and Riverside 
This area hosts many restaurants, more than Little Saigon and Sukothai that are mentioned above. If you do not know what you want for dinner, just take a stroll around and you are bound to find something you want to eat.

Mid-range

If you’re looking for a place to hold a business dinner or an evening out with colleagues which is impressive but not too expensive check out our mid-range recommended restaurants.

Fratini La Trattoria
The experience is different at this Italian restaurant since there are no menus. The chef will prepare your meal according to your dietary restrictions upon arrival. This is a very popular Italian restaurant so it might be worth booking in advance.

Jaan
Be stunned by the view of Marina Bay when entering this restaurant on the 70th floor of the Swissotel The Stamford. The food is unbelievable and the service is excellent. Jaan is in visitors opinions well-deserving of at least one Michelin star when the stars arrive to Singapore.
